Smile Your Most Confident Smile

At White, Greer & Maggard Orthodontics, we understand the power of a great smile. Straighter teeth improve overall confidence and self-esteem. They also boost your oral health and make brushing and flossing easier.

As long as your teeth and gums are healthy, you can get orthodontic treatment at any age. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a child’s first check-up with an orthodontist by the age of seven. Early orthodontic treatment is advised; the optimum ages for braces are generally between eight and 14 when a majority of permanent teeth are present.

The number of adults choosing to receive orthodontic treatment is growing. Adults now account for 20% of orthodontic patients in the US today. Only around one-third of Americans have correctly aligned teeth, meaning a significant majority could benefit from orthodontic treatment.

Our Services

Across our three Louisville locations, we strive to create customized treatment plans for every patient. We are proud to offer traditional metal braces, ceramic, Damon, and Invisalign options.

Traditional Braces

The most affordable option and most common among children and teenagers. Metal braces use brackets that are cemented onto individual teeth and linked together with metal wires. This creates pressure on the teeth, causing them to shift into the correct position.

Ceramic Braces

Similar to metal braces, this option uses brackets that are made from a clear or tooth-colored ceramic. Colored wires and clear elastic will ensure these braces are as invisible as possible.

Damon Braces

An increasingly popular option, Damon braces look similar to traditional braces with brackets on individual teeth and a wire linking the brackets. Rather than elastics, however, this option uses a special slide mechanism that grasps the wire.

The result is that they are a more subtle and less-obvious type of braces. Damon braces require fewer appointments and work faster than traditional braces.

Invisalign

Rather than relying on brackets and wires, Invisalign utilizes custom-made aligners to straighten teeth. Invisalign is convenient as it can be easily removed for cleaning and eating. As they are clear, they are practically invisible and are a great option for adults especially.

Signs You Need Braces

While braces are commonly used to straighten teeth for aesthetic purposes, there are a number of benefits to getting orthodontic treatment. These include:

  • Straighten crooked or crowded teeth
  • Make brushing and flossing easier
  • Improve pronunciation
  • Resolve overbite and similar issues
  • Resolve stress and fatigue on the jawline

If you or your children would benefit from braces, contact one of your Louisville offices today. We offer a professional and friendly service that guarantees brighter smiles.
